Kingsway Care were Gung Ho enough to launch in the middle of a pandemic.
“This has been an incredibly tough twelve months for our local Sussex community, but the need for the highest quality home care does not go away. We are so proud to have founded Kingsway Care” said Olly Carter, Managing Director.
“We all know that the lockdown, whilst necessary, has created a double whammy of furlough & redundancies, alongside serious stress & isolation caused by separation from our family, friends & neighbours. This has motivated our entire team to work even harder and smarter to make a difference to the lives of our clients.
We’re so proud that we’ve already employed fourteen amazing local CareGivers and we are committed to paying them a Living Wage as a minimum.”
The Kingsway Care team has been doing all they can to keep everyone’s spirits up, with so many great initiatives. They are incredibly active in the local community having volunteered for several local projects, as well as supporting AgeUK clients with emergency care support over the festive period.
They also shared a full calendar of online festive events, including a Christmas show, a Christmas carol concert (from St Peters Brighton) and two pantomimes which were all broadcast free of charge.
The team then wanted to continue the online fun after Christmas, so devised ‘Quizzical Thursdays’. Every Thursday, at 7pm we broadcast a pub-style online quiz to tease everyone’s brain cells. “Our Quiz is becoming really popular and even Basil Brush is supporting our initiative” said Dave Taggart, quiz master extraordinaire and Senior CareGiver at Kingsway Care.
‘We want to show that working in Adult Social Care can be fun and rewarding’ said Chris Lucas, Co-founder and Registered Manager. “We know that our handpicked team of highly trained CareGivers and Personal Assistants are making a big difference to our client’s lives.”
