Kingsway Care are proud to announce their partnership with local Sussex charity, Food & Friendship.
“We love the work that Food & Friendship do to combat loneliness and isolation in our community. It fits so nicely with our own ethos”. Said Olly Carter, Managing Director of Kingsway Care.
Between March 2020 to February 2021, Food & Friendship have delivered over 4000 meals and food parcels to people who were shielding or isolating or who didn’t have access to a hot meal. A greatly reduced team cooked two-course meals twice a week, which were delivered by a huge team of volunteers across Brighton and Hove.

“We cannot wait to re-open our lunch clubs as soon as this lockdown eases. Until then we will continue to support vulnerable people across the city with hot meals and a friendly face twice a week. We are very excited to be the Kingsway Care’s charity of the year.” said Caroline Henderson, Co-ordinator of Food & Friendship.
Kingsway Care lends support
Kingsway Care will be contributing to weekly food costs as well as lending support from their growing team of CareGivers, many of whom are born entertainers too. So, expect sing-a-longs and fun & games when the lunch clubs do reopen!
“There are so many other ways we would like to support this fabulous charity. Our online shop, for ordering healthy frozen ready-meals by Gourmade, will be open very soon and we will encourage customers to donate to Food & Friendship at the check-out. Kingsway Coffee will also be another space we will make available for Food & Friendship lunch and cooking clubs” added Olly Carter.
We rely on fundraising to keep the costs of our meals low and are delighted with our new partnership with Kingsway Care. They have so many new ideas to raise money and have fun at the same time!” said Caroline.
