Kingsway Care Sponsors Hove Charity
Community Spirit
Kingsway Care has been sponsoring the fantastic local Sussex charity, Food and Friendship Luncheon Club for nearly a year. Their aim to combat loneliness and isolation chimes with Kingsway Care’s company values. This week we sent along our ‘Care Sectors Got Talent’ finalist, Jonathan, to sing crowd-pleasing songs by Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Neil Diamond, and many more.
The lunch of vegetable soup and lasagna was cooked by the usual amazing army of volunteers that prepare food every Tuesday and Thursday at Hove Methodist Church. (Except for a break for half-term next week!).
Bingo!
The fun continued with Bingo. Our CareGiver Anne-Marie spun the balls whilst Jonathan called the numbers. We provided prizes ranging from a delicious cake, chocolate, biscuits, Kingsway care thermal mug, water bottle, and pens.
About Food and Friendship Luncheon Club
Between March 2020 and June 2021, Food and Friendship delivered over 7000 meals and food parcels to people who were shielding or isolating. Since September 2021 the social luncheon clubs have restarted and provide a boost to all involved.
The Hove Luncheon Club has been bringing people together through food since 2012. The aim is to tackle social isolation and loneliness amongst older people and adults with learning disabilities. Based in Hove Methodist Church they provide friendship and low-cost meals every Tuesday during school term time.
The Thursday club is primarily for adults with learning disabilities offering a chance to learn cooking skills, have a low-cost meal, and meet friends.
Kingsway Care is proud to sponsor this wonderful local charity. We contribute towards costs and our big-hearted CareGivers love to get involved with entertainment too.
