80 Presents in 8 Days
We’re asking for your help to donate 80 presents in 8 days, starting from today because we need to wrap all the presents by December 3rd, 2022 for the local charity we support, Food and Friendship, Hove.
Who are the presents for?
Food and Friendship support those in food poverty, including elderly, disabled, or lonely adults in our local community.
Many of Food and Friendships 80 regulars live alone and won’t be receiving a Christmas present from anyone. The rising cost of living will also impact those on low incomes even more. We would like to make sure they receive a gift at the Christmas lunch on December 6th and hope that our friends and patrons of Kingsway Coffee can help us achieve our goal.
Donation Box at Kingsway Coffee
We have set up a Donation Box in Kingsway Coffee, Hove. If you can donate a box of chocolates, box of biscuits or a toiletries gift set that would be gratefully received. Or we’ll accept money donations for us to buy the gifts.
For more than two years, Kingsway Care (and now Kingsway Coffee) are lead financial sponsors and occasional entertainers for the fantastic local charity, Food and Friendship. We share many of the same values and particularly a desire to tackle social isolation and loneliness.
Kingsway Coffee Vouchers for Volunteers
Kingsway Coffee will also happily be donating vouchers for the merry team of 38 volunteers that prepare Food and Friendship Luncheons on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time.
About Food and Friendship
Since 2012 Hove Luncheon Club has been bringing people together through food tackling social isolation and loneliness primarily amongst older people and adults with learning disabilities. Based in Hove Methodist Church, they provide friendship and low-cost meals with transport for older people every Tuesday during school term time.
In 2016 they expanded to run a Thursday club primarily aimed at adults with learning disabilities offering a chance to learn cooking skills, meet friends, have a low-cost meal, and socialise.
