Only in Brighton & Hove!

What did you do at work today?
Kingsway CareGivers, Jodie and Faye had a fabulous time at the sell-out daytime cabaret for the 60+ age group! Escorting Eileen and Joan to enjoy a decadent afternoon of cream tea, bubbles, raffle draw, Elvis and burlesque dancer called Cherry Shakewell!

Kingsway CareGiver, Faye, said, “I never imagined doing anything like this as a CareGiver!”
Kingsway CareGiver, Jodie said, “the food, volunteers and atmosphere were all amazing.”

By the way, we love the pearl necklace Jodie is wearing to add a dash of cabaret glamour to the Kingsway Care uniform!
Our roving reporter and scheduler Amy was also present to take some photos and video of the occasion. She arrived just as Cherry Shakewell started shaking her maracas and couldn’t quite believe her eyes. Then Elvis serenaded lucky Kingsway Care Client, Joan!
You can see some of the video footage on our instagram account should you wish to check it out yourself.
About the Daytime Cabaret

The La Di Da Society is a registered charity that runs daytime cabaret and dance events for people over 60 years old at The King Alfred Ballroom in Hove. (Just around the corner from Kingsway Care’s office) At each event, with up to 240 guests, they create a friendly, sociable and lively atmosphere where people can easily make friends and let their hair down!
For £10, guests receive an afternoon tea served on vintage crockery, a glass of bubbly and a raffle ticket, as well as getting entertained by some top quality cabaret performers and their resident DJ. They also incorporate a short, five minute interactive dance section at each event that gets everyone moving whether it’s done sitting down or standing up. How Fab-u-lous!
Adding the ‘social’ to care
If you’re a regular reader of our web posts or social media, you’ll already know we love adding the ‘social’ to care. Social connections are so important and we love seeing the boost it gives to Kingsway Care Clients and CareGivers. Click the buttons below to see what we got up to on our previous social events.
