The event was a celebration of the amazing impact the BRITE project has had supporting local SMEs (small to medium enterprises) to innovate and grow during the past three years.

Caroline Lucas, MP and several other start ups were also part of the fascinating panel celebrating the legacy of the BRITE project.

Kingsway Care’s Journey with BRITE: A Testament to Innovation and Growth

As a fast-growing and highly innovative company, the founder, Olly, joined BRITE’s Profitnet in March 2022 to access peer-to-peer networking and to work with others who understood the pressures and responsibilities of running a small business. During his speech, he thanked BRITE and the brilliant team of Kingsway Care professionals.

“I feel incredibly privileged to have taken part in the BRITE Innovation “Profitnet” programme (in association with University of Brighton) – supportng Kingsway Care’s rapid growth to a team of 50+ CareGivers.

And what an opportunity to share a stage with Caroline Lucas MP & several local start-up founders, celebrating business innovation, success & growth in our vibrant city of Brighton & Hove. 

Last but not least, thank you to the brilliant work performed by Kingsway Care professionals 365 days a year, enabling independent living for disabled & elderly adults across Sussex. I’m super proud of our amazing team.

About BRITE: Empowering SMEs and Driving Economic Growth

University of Brighton joined forces with Plus X to create BRITE – a series of innovation programmes designed to provide robust innovation and scale-up support for SMEs, and to be an engine for job creation and economic opportunity in the Coast to Capital LEP region.

After more than three years, BRITE alumni, partners, and supporters were invited to celebrate the enduring legacy that the BRITE Project will leave, with:

+ Over 165 SMEs supported

+ More than 5000 hours of support given

+ 32 programmes delivered

+ 164 jobs created with assistance from BRITE support
