The newly adjusted Real Living Wage is announced annually each November by the Living Wage Foundation. As we’re already members of the Brighton & Hove Living Wage Campaign we know the new UK rate is now £12.00 per hour. This is an increase of £1.10 from £10.90 outside of London. Employers have until 1st April 2024 to implement the pay rise.
Kingsway Care Pay Increases
Kingsway Care is not surprised with the necessary change due to the cost of living crisis and already implemented a pay increase for the team at the beginning of October 2023.
“We pay between £12 to £14 per hour for new CareGivers, plus various benefits such as employee shares, pension and healthcare. Other colleagues, with experience, earn more and a guaranteed monthly income.
We will keep reviewing our pay, as we’re solidly behind the Living Wage campaign”.

Backing the Real Living Wage on Heart FM and LBC
(listen to what Vicky had to say on yesterday’s Heart FM and LBC news bulletin at the 50 second mark)
Vicky Haines, MD of Kingsway Care also took to the airwaves on Heart FM and LBC South East to back the rise in the Real Living Wage, saying:

“It’s important for staff to feel rewarded by good pay. Without a really tight, committed and motivated team of CareGivers, we don’t have a home care business. We have to make sure they are happy and pay the Real Living Wage.”
Vicky Haines, Managing Director
Guaranteed Monthly Income
In addition to paying the real living wage, Kingsway Care also offers a guaranteed monthly income via fixed and part-time contracts. More than half our workforce have opted to enjoy a guaranteed monthly salary and the financial stability that brings. They also have the opportunity to earn more with unlimited overtime at £12.50.
Of course, we also pay the Living Wage, plus benefits for our CareGivers with other commitments, such as students or mums that choose to work less than 20 hours per week.
