Why Nandita Chose a Career in Care
At Kingsway Care, we love sharing real stories from our team of compassionate carers. They’re the best proof that a career in care isn’t just “a job”. It’s meaningful, practical, human work that fits into real lives and changes them for the better.
Meet Nandita
This week, our Senior CareGiver, Amy, sat down with her colleague, Nandita, to talk about why she chose a career in care, what inspires her, and what she loves most about working with us. Their short video says so much, but here’s a little more about Nandita.
From Master’s Graduate to CareGiver
Before joining Kingsway Care, Nandita completed her Master’s degree at the University of Sussex. She was also working part-time as a mental health care assistant in local hospitals. Caring already felt natural to her, but she didn’t expect it to become her full-time calling.
That changed when someone she loved needed her.
A Personal Journey Into Dementia Care
When Nandita’s father was diagnosed with dementia, everything shifted. She stepped in to help care for him, and saw first-hand the difference that patience, compassion and consistent support can make.
That experience lit a spark. She realised how powerful good care can be and how much it matters to families. It’s what led her to Kingsway Care.
The Joy of Everyday Moments
Nandita’s days are full of variety. She supports clients with personal care, medication and companionship, but one of her favourite parts of the job is cooking.
She loves preparing meals that bring comfort, spark memories and put smiles on faces. She even goes home and recreates clients’ favourite dishes in her own kitchen.
Those little moments mean everything.
What Kingsway Care Means to Her
When Amy asked her to describe Kingsway Care in three words, Nandita didn’t hesitate:
Compassionate. Supportive. Trustworthy.
To her, we’re a team that genuinely cares about each client as an individual. We look out for each other as colleagues, and we work as a family to deliver the very best care possible.
Clients and their families know they can rely on us. And that trust matters.
A Quote Close to Her Heart
Nandita finished her conversation with a line that captures the spirit of care beautifully:

“Hearts that beat to the tune of kindness can change the rhythm of the world.”
