A Day of Fun, Feasts, and Friendly Competition: Kingsway Care's Summer Staff Party in Brighton
Ah, summer in Brighton—a time for sun, sea, and... solving cryptic clues in the rain? At Kingsway Care, we like to do things a little differently, and this year's Annual Summer Social was no exception!
Our amazing CareGivers, along with our adventurous electric wheelchair Clients, Katy and Martin, gathered at the stylish RedRoaster in Brighton. Kicking off the day with a Prosecco welcome that set the tone for an unforgettable afternoon.
Redroaster Brunch
The buffet was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds, featuring mini fish and chips, sliders, crostini, and healthy crudités. And let’s not forget the delicious cupcakes, each adorned with icing in our signature Kingsway Care yellow. A sweet start to what would be a very eventful day!
Treasure Hunt Brighton
The excitement continued with a challenging treasure hunt around Brighton, expertly organized by Treasure Hunt Brighton. Eight intrepid teams set off at staggered intervals into the drizzle, ready to solve 11 cryptic clues scattered across the city.
The first clue, located at the Gates of India, had several teams scratching their heads, staring at the scenery like they were on a day trip rather than in the heat of competition. But once that first puzzle was cracked, brains clicked into gear and the pace picked up—along with some crafty tactics.
Competitive Team Spirit
A few teams decided that following closely behind others might give them an edge, eavesdropping on their problem-solving discussions. Cheeky? Maybe. Effective? Definitely.
Not even the rain could dampen our spirits as we raced through the vibrant streets of Brighton. The beautiful independent shops in North Laines tempted some of us with their wares, but the competitive spirit kept us on track. There was no time for shopping—there were clues to solve and glory to claim!
Treasure Hunt Winners & Losers
Back at RedRoaster, the celebration continued with drinks and the eagerly anticipated announcement of the winners. The victorious team members were each rewarded with a meal for two and cinema tickets to the ODEON Brighton—a well-deserved prize for their quick thinking and teamwork. As for the team that came in last? They took home bright yellow wooden spoons, as a reminder of their valiant efforts.
But the fun didn’t stop there. The day’s grand prize—a night for two in London, complete with a three-course meal in Soho—was up for grabs for the best photo taken during the hunt. The competition was fierce, but in the end, only one person could claim this coveted prize.

After a stirring and heartfelt speech by Olly Carter, our founder, we stepped out into glorious sunshine—a fitting end to a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and just a hint of healthy competition. Because at Kingsway Care, the sun always shines, even when it rains!
