Football Fever
Not everyone at Kingsway Care is football mad. In fact, some of our team admitted they couldn’t tell a corner kick from a corner shop. But when the FIFA World Cup 2026 came around in June, we thought it would be fun to run a free team sweepstake.
Twenty Eight names went into an online random generator while the remainder of our 44-strong team abstained. Countries were assigned. The cheering, groaning and good-natured banter began immediately.
Senior CareGiver, Peta drew Iraq and commiserated with Client Coordinator, Sue, who drew Japan. Meanwhile, Senior CareGiver, Arthur was all smiles when he drew England. Some countries disappeared almost before the our sweepstake chart had been pinned to the wall.

After a few hundred hydration breaks later, let’s see who made it to the quarter finals and who is on the final countdown to raise the Kingsway Care World Cup Trophy.

Our newest signing from Martlets and Morocco’s surprise package. Bev has previous experience as a skater for Holiday on Ice!

Pitched against our award-winning Registered Manager, Lisa, managerial masterclass beat frontline brilliance.

Stephanie / Norway
Our youngest team player was recently promoted to Norwegian Viking.
Stephanie rowed home after Arthur roared ahead.

Jonathan / Switzerland
Our Dementia Expert, Jonathan displayed the composure of a seasoned pro. With decades of experience, he proved that while pace may fade, reading the game never does.
Jonathan bowed out with considerably more dignity than Jacqueline.

Jacqueline / France
Our Marketing Director was quietly confident she would go all the way.
She looked unstoppable… until she wasn’t. Jacqueline’s tournament ended with all the grace of a collapsing soufflé.

Ku / Argentina
One of our international signings this year, Ku has settled into the squad brilliantly. Calm under pressure, dependable every week and now powering Argentina into the World Cup Final. Shame he had to beat Arthur to do it.

Lisa / Spain
Our award-winning Registered Manager, Lisa, calmly booked a place in the final while saying ‘au revoir’ to Jacqueline.
2 – 0 to Spain (semi finals)
Arthur / England
Senior CareGiver, Arthur, gave it everything, and the Three Lions gave us hope after defeating Norway.
As every football fan knows… sometimes football breaks your heart. Arthur defended brilliantly, but Ku kept checking in until he finally found the winner.

England’s dream may be over… but the Kingsway Care Sweepstake certainly isn’t!

England Finish on the Podium
After the heartbreak of the semi-final, Arthur’s Three Lions showed tremendous character to bounce back in style. A thrilling 6 – 4 victory over France secured third place and a well-deserved bronze medal in the Kingsway Care World Cup.
Arthur can hold his head high after a fantastic tournament and, more importantly, look forward to collecting one of our mystery sweepstake prizes.

The Trophy Heads to the Manager’s Office
After an unforgettable tournament filled with surprise results, friendly rivalries and plenty of office banter, our Kingsway Care World Cup has a worthy winner.
Congratulations to Lisa, whose Spain narrowly defeated Ku’s Argentina 1-0 in a closely fought final.
When handed the trophy, Lisa summed up the moment perfectly:
“I worked hard for that!”
After everything she’s done to support our team over the past year… we’ll let her have that one.
We Are The Champions
The Kingsway Care World Cup 2026 sweepstake isn’t really about football. It’s about bringing people together. CareGivers who rarely work the same shifts suddenly had something to chat about and friendly rivalry.
It became a wonderful conversation starter during client visits too. Stories flowed about past World Cups, favourite players and unforgettable matches, with some clients proudly reminiscing about England’s famous victory in 1966.
It also gives us the perfect excuse to introduce some of the amazing people who make Kingsway Care what it is. Because behind every football shirt was a CareGiver, trainer, coordinator or manager dedicated to making life better for someone else every single day.
