Achieving client goals motivates us and is very rewarding. Taking Martin to watch Brighton & Hove Albion v Spurs is a fantastic example of turning his dream into a reality. It really scores personal goals for him.
At Kingsway Care, we believe every day should be meaningful, especially for people with disabilities or older adults with limited mobility. Martin, a 42-year-old with cerebral palsy, could easily become isolated at home. Without regular visits from Kingsway Care or his personal assistant, Martin would spend most of his days in bed or barely leave the house. We are dedicated to helping Martin—and others like him—live independently. They should achieve their personal goals in every aspect of their lives.
Since we began supporting Martin, we’ve worked closely with him to learn what brings him joy. We adapt his care plan to focus on making more time for socialising and activities. The result? A calendar full of enriching experiences that meet his personal goals.
Scoring Tickets for a Football Match
Martin had always dreamed of attending a live football match, and with the help of our Managing Director, Vicky, that dream came true. Despite the sold-out game for Brighton & Hove Albion v Spurs, Vicky's persistence with Brighton & Hove Albion's Supporter Services secured two accessible seats.
The accessible seating was amazing, and it’s affordable for any other clients who might want to experience a football match. Scores of personal goals were met that day.
The excitement didn’t end there. Kingsway Care’s founder, Olly, stepped in to make the day even more special, offering to take Martin to the game. Olly, a Spurs fan, good-naturedly supported the opposing team, but that didn’t spoil the fun one bit.
Olly laughed, "Martin loved Brighton’s win over my team. He didn’t rub it in at all! The accessible seating was amazing. It’s affordable for any other clients who might want to experience a football match. Seeing Martin's smile light up the stadium makes it all worthwhile."

Enriching Martin’s Life, One Activity at a Time
Martin’s special day out with Kingsway Care is about so much more than just football. Since creating his Wishlist in August, he’s been enjoying a wide range of activities. All are designed to give him more independence and social interaction. From attending Boccia sessions every Tuesday to trying out adaptive boxing for the first time, Martin's quality of life has improved greatly. This meets various personal goals.
Last month, Martin even joined us for Kingsway Care's annual party and treasure hunt in Brighton. He zoomed around with his fellow Kingsway Care friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime. These outings are more than just fun—they are a crucial part of helping Martin feel connected, empowered, and with a life worth living. Scoring personal goals through these experiences is invaluable.
The Ultimate Goal: An Activity Holiday
Martin’s ultimate wish is to go on an activity holiday for people with disabilities, and we’re determined to make that happen. Our team is committed to moving mountains to ensure that Martin’s days are not spent in bed or confined to his flat. Instead, they should be filled with joy, laughter, and purpose. Achieving this holiday is one of our primary client goals.
At Kingsway Care, we understand that for someone like Martin, who lives alone and relies on our visits, these moments of connection and adventure are life-changing.
