Another Year of Kindness at Kingsway Care
They bring a ray of sunshine into mum’s morning care, often managing to help her smile and laugh.
We’ve been looking back at the past year and the thousands of small, meaningful moments that make up life at Kingsway Care. Our CareGivers have delivered more than 40,000 hours of support, and in that time our clients have been wonderfully generous in sharing their thoughts about the people who make their days brighter.

How We Gathered These Insights
These reflections came in when we invited clients to nominate their CareGivers for the Everyday Hero Award at the Kingsway Care Gala Awards 2025, taking place on Friday 12 December at the Brighton Mercure Hotel.
The celebration is privately funded, not paid for by Kingsway Care or Client fees, because we believe it matters to honour the brilliant, compassionate people who make our service what it is.

Who Makes A Difference & Why?
We asked clients to tell us who makes a difference and why. More than 200 comments poured in from 50 Clients, each one a reminder of how powerful good care can be.
What stood out wasn’t a single moment. It was the pattern. Again and again, clients talked about kindness, reliability, humour, companionship and the confidence that comes from having someone truly on their side.
- caring “from the heart”,
- uplifting,
- companion-like,
- emotionally anchoring at the most vulnerable moments
- supportive, emotionally intelligent leadership
- grief support after bereavement,
- helping clients rebuild social lives,
- supporting hospital transitions,
- sorting out the practicalities families can’t manage.
These everyday acts are the reason our clients feel safe at home. They’re the reason families can breathe easier. And they’re the reason we move into another year feeling proud, energised and ready for everything ahead. We will be revealing who the Every Day Heroes are as voted by our clients on the awards night on Friday 12th December.
1. Familiar Faces Bring Comfort and Confidence
One theme echoed again and again: continuity matters.
Clients spoke about the reassurance of seeing the same CareGivers who know their routines, preferences and personalities. Familiar faces help people feel safe, respected and understood. It turns a visit into a relationship, not a transaction.

Find out how we continue to support Barry after his wife died with daily phone calls and lunchtime visits.
2. Reliability That Takes Stress Away
Many clients told us how much they appreciate knowing help will be there when it’s needed.
Punctuality, communication and consistency all play a huge role in helping people feel supported at home. Families shared how this reliability gives them peace of mind, especially when juggling work or supporting loved ones from afar.

This is a small extract from a long and wonderful review from Betty's daughter who lives in Australia.
3. Kindness That Lifts the Whole Day
Kindness came up more than any other word.
Clients mentioned CareGivers who bring humour, patience and positivity into their homes. They described feeling listened to, respected and treated as individuals. These uplifting interactions often made the biggest difference, turning a difficult day into a manageable one.

4. Going the Extra Mile (Often Without Being Asked)
From accompanying clients on local outings to helping them rediscover independence after illness, our CareGivers consistently found ways to add joy and meaning to everyday life.
Several clients shared stories of CareGivers helping them regain confidence in walking, writing or simply enjoying their favourite activities again. These moments meant the world to them.

Find out how we got Christine back on her feet again after Parkinson's symptoms left her immobile last Christmas.
5. A Team That Truly Cares
Behind every visit sits a wider support team ensuring care runs smoothly.
Clients spoke warmly about office staff who listen, respond quickly and work hard to match CareGivers thoughtfully. This teamwork creates the foundation for exceptional care, and many clients noticed and appreciated it.
What These Comments Mean for the Year Ahead
This feedback isn’t something we read once and file away. It shapes how we recruit, train and support our CareGivers. It guides how we grow. And it strengthens our belief that great care is always rooted in kindness.

- keeping clients happy and safe
