The KingswayCARES Initiative
At Kingsway Care, we’ve always believed that providing exceptional home care goes beyond attending to our clients' daily needs. While ensuring health and wellbeing is our priority, we recognise that true care means bringing joy, fulfilment, and positive experiences into the lives of those we support.
That’s why we’re excited to name an ongoing initiative: KingswayCARES. It is a programme dedicated to making our clients' wishes come true, no matter how big or small.
Positive Experiences
The idea behind KingswayCARES is simple but impactful. We want to bring happiness into the lives of our clients by fulfilling their dearest wishes. Whether it’s enjoying a spontaneous treat like ice cream on Hove seafront or a visit to pet the animals at Mile Oak Farm, we’re committed to creating personalised experiences that leave lasting memories. These moments go beyond typical care. They are about connecting with our clients on a deeper level and making their dreams a reality.
Formalising KingswayCARES
To ensure that every wish is heard and considered, we’ve formalised our efforts through a 'Clients Wishlist' board at our Hove headquarters. This board is a space where our CareGivers can share and collaborate on ideas to make these special requests happen.
Each week, we highlight these efforts in our 'CareGivers Connect' e-newsletter. We celebrate the creativity and dedication of our team as they deliver joyful experiences to each and every client.
Nostalgic Wishes
The wishes we’ve received so far have been as varied as our clients themselves. Many of our older ladies have expressed a desire for a traditional cream tea. A nostalgic gathering that we’re eager to organise. A classic British fish and chip supper has also topped the list. It is a simple yet much loved treat that brings back fond memories.
Creative Aspirations
For others, creativity is key. Requests for crafternoons and art classes have shown us the importance of self-expression. Our clients enjoy the therapeutic benefits of creating something with their own hands. These sessions provide a creative outlet, valuable social interaction, and a sense of achievement.

Aviation Museum Visit For RAF Veteran, Don
Don told us he’s so grateful his grandson encouraged him to try companionship visits with Kingsway Care. He said everyone is so kind and caring. He thought his days of outings to his favourite places were over—but not anymore!

Martin's Wish List
Not all wishes are simple to fulfil, but that only strengthens our resolve. For example, Martin, a long-term client living with cerebral palsy, had a very long wish list. Mostly looking for opportunities to be more active and socialise in the local community. We have organised adaptive boxing classes at King Alfred's Leisure Centre in Hove. We also included him on our Summer Party treasure hunt around Brighton.
Top of his wish list was to watch a live football match at Brighton & Hove Albion FC. Even though tickets were sold out! Find out how we managed to score some tickets. Watch Martin's face light up the stadium on this blog post.

Eileen's Hair Salon Treat
Eileen, our lovely 98-year-old Client, used to love visiting the salon every fortnight but sadly missed those days—until now! After hearing this from her grandson, we couldn’t wait to surprise her with a pampering session at ‘Hair Actually Hove’. A huge thank you to our CareGiver, Lisa, for making it happen and being rewarded with Eileen’s radiant smile!

KingswayCARES For The Local Community
KingswayCARES initiative isn’t just for our clients—it’s for the wider community as well. We’re passionate about extending this initiative to those who attend the Food and Friendship Luncheon Club, a fantastic local charity we’ve proudly supported since 2020.
This organisation provides essential social support to older adults in our community. We’re excited to bring our positivity, fun, and dedication to those who may not have the resources to fulfil their own wishes.
Through our partnership with the Food and Friendship Luncheon Club, we aim to identify and fulfil the wishes of those in our community who need it most. Whether it’s a special day out, a meaningful meal, or simply an opportunity to socialise, we’re committed to sharing the joy and laughter that define the KingswayCARES programme.
Generous $17,500 Donation Boost
Thanks to a generous donation by Forescout Technologies Inc,(in January 2025) the KingswayCARES initiative will be able to continue surprising and delighting clients in our Brighton, Hove & Worthing communities. Olly Carter, Founder of Kingsway Care and Channel Sales for Forescout Technology Inc said:
"We are incredibly grateful for the generous $17,500 donation to KingswayCARES! This amazing contribution will help us create meaningful events and experiences for older and disabled people in our local community—bringing joy, connection, and independence to those who need it most."

Often, the need for home care will follow a decline in health or mobility, or simply due to increased age-related frailty, but whatever the reason, the person will usually experience some level of social exclusion.Having the ability to leave your home and engage with an activity of your choice makes all the difference to an improved level of wellbeing. We will enjoy making plans for our clients to achieve an experience that they could only dream about. No matter how small it may seem to us, it will be huge for them.
