Easter Crafting Challenge!
This Easter, Kingsway Care’s Managing Director, Vicky Haines, well and truly hatched a plan to spread some extra springtime joy to our fun home care visits. Forget chocolate eggs (well, maybe not entirely). This year it was all about creativity, connection, and a little healthy competition.
Vicky’s Egg-cellent Easter Idea
The Ultimate Easter Craft Kits
Vicky, never one to do things by halves, masterminded the ultimate Easter Craft Kits. She packed Easter bags full of goodies for CareGivers and Clients to enjoy fun home care visits together. We’re talking Easter stickers galore, blank greeting cards, and double-sided sticky tape. Plus, some adorable bunny pegs to seal the kits.
Pressed Flowers & Nostalgic Memories
But the real cherry on top? Fresh flowers! Vicky sourced some lovely seasonal blooms from a local florist and, of course, tied them up with a ribbon in our favourite colour - yellow. She picked flowers that are perfect for pressing — such a simple and nostalgic way to turn a little piece of nature into something beautiful.
Pressing flowers is one of those calming, old-school activities that gives CareGivers and Clients the chance to slow down, chat, share memories, and create something special together.
Crafty Competition
And what’s a good craft project without a bit of friendly rivalry? To really raise the stakes, Vicky announced a competition. A £100 prize is up for grabs for the most creative Easter card, judged on both artistic flair and photos of the sheer joy factor! The winner will be revealed in our weekly CareGivers Connect employee newsletter on Good Friday.

Fun For All The Family
Meanwhile, Senior CareGiver, Sally said she was chuffed to involve the whole family in the Easter Craft Challenge.
"I was with my client at the weekend and she loved her Easter egg! Since she’s paralysed from the chest down and unable to draw, her son and his girlfriend got involved in making the Easter cards. I thought they were very sweet!"
Crafting for Stroke Recovery
Thanks to our Senior CareGiver, Peta, and our Client, Glen, for getting stuck into the Kingsway Care Easter Craft Challenge. After having a stroke 10 years ago, Glen lost the use of his left hand — and as a left-hander, he hadn’t picked up a pen since.
But with a little encouragement from Peta, Glen decided to give it a go using his right hand — and the result? A brilliant, hand-decorated Easter card for one of his best friends! A great example of how crafting can be a really rewarding achievement. You can watch Peta & Glen's short video on YouTube.
With encouragement from our Senior CareGiver, Peta, Glen picked up a pen for the first time since his stroke 10 years ago — to make a special Easter card for his best friend!
