Kingsway Care Detectives & Puzzle Solvers

At Kingsway Care, we do more than basic home care. Cleaning, cooking, personal hygiene, and companionship are important, but we go further. Our expert team are detectives, puzzle solvers, and problem fixers.

We help older adults and individuals with disabilities, including those with dementia, strokes, brain injuries, and Parkinson’s. We also care for people with cancer, spinal injuries, and those nearing the end of life.

Problem Fixers: Falls

Sometimes, a Client has many falls. We don’t just assume it’s normal. We ask questions.

Could it be their medication? We check with their GP or pharmacist.
Could better mobility aids help? We call an occupational therapist.
Would exercise improve strength and balance? We work with a physiotherapist.

It's important to find the cause of the problem and fix it so our clients feel supported, safer and stronger.

Celebrating Small Wins: Stroke Recovery

For clients recovering from strokes, progress can be painstakingly slow. At Kingsway Care, we don’t give up. We celebrate every small victory, from a client engaging in conversation to regaining physical mobility.

One client had trouble speaking and moving. After months of care, he called for help after tripping over his cat at home. He even got himself up and used the phone to call us for help. It might seem like a small achievement, but for this individual with limited speech and mobility, it was a breakthrough. We celebrated our daily perserverance and his success with him.

Improving Quality of Life: Pain Management

A 93-year-old client in palliative care was in pain. Our team spoke with his GP and District Nurse. Together, they changed his medication. Now, he feels more comfortable and has a better quality of life.

Specialised Care Skills

This year, we’re expanding our training to include delegated tasks such as wound care, skin integrity, and catheter and stoma care. By equipping our caregivers with these advanced skills, we can minimise the need for clients to wait for district nurses, attend GP appointments, or endure stressful trips to A&E.
